The revised National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), published in December 2024, introduces a pro-growth stance on housing delivery that aligns closely with the approach Gladman Developments has championed for more than two decades.
Key changes include an increased emphasis on meeting local housing needs, a revised standard methodology for calculating housing requirements, and clearer expectations for local authorities to maintain a robust pipeline of deliverable sites. These reforms reflect the government’s ambition to build 1.5 million new homes over the current parliament.
Gladman’s dedicated policy and promotions team has been actively engaged in the reform process, responding to consultations and participating in discussions with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. The company’s approach — working constructively with councils during local plan preparation and providing evidence on housing need and site deliverability — is now firmly supported by national policy.
