The site, located to the west of Sandbach town centre, is adjacent to one of our previous successes on which planning permission was granted on appeal in October 2013.
This second phase was a scheme of 165 dwellings, 30% of which were secured as affordable homes. The original outline planning application was refused due to the cumulative impact of developments around Sandbach and conflict with the Sandbach Neighbourhood Plan. The appeal was recovered by the Secretary of State in April 2016 and was allowed in October 2016.
We successfully argued that the limited adverse impacts would be outweighed by the benefits of delivering market and affordable housing, economic benefits and the environmental benefits of providing a community park and additional managed habitats.
