Gordon attended Staffordshire University (Polytechnic as it was known then) for a three-year full-time Hotel and Catering course. Following this he joined the NHS and worked his way up to Head Chef before leaving to join the private sector at Nuffield Hospitals. He was chosen to be one of the first Hotel Services Managers appointed in the country and was responsible for the purchasing, staffing and operation of all support services.
In 1994 he joined Gladman as Hotel Services Manager for the three nursing homes that Gladman built and operated at the time. When Gladman sold the nursing homes to devote more time to doing what they did best (speculative building) he joined the office team and worked alongside Karen Gladman on interior design and purchasing for complete turn-key operation for the many new-build nursing homes that followed. This role then flowed into the office development side and he is presently employed in the purchasing department.
In his spare time Gordon enjoys DIY, gardening and walking, although most spare time these days is spent with his five grandchildren.
