More Office Space Coming To UK Cities

Feb 2, 2018

Construction of office space in the UK has gathered pace in the past year, with many of the country’s regional cities seeing an increasing number of these kinds of developments springing up.

The latest Deloitte Real Estate Crane Survey UK found that there have been a number of new construction starts on office developments in key cities, including Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham, in the past 12 months.

Simon Bedford, partner and regional head at Deloitte Real Estate, commented: “Across all cities, the office sector is benefiting from serious investment as all locations sustained or significantly increased construction.”

That could be good news if you’re looking for new offices for sale in Merseyside, as you could find that there are more new builds to choose from over the coming year.

Mr Bedford added that the development of these kinds of schemes is supported by “significant investor confidence, strong business communities and an influx of new talent”.

Liverpool is one city that’s doing well when it comes to attracting new businesses to set up shop there, with a report in December revealing that it’s the best location in the UK in which to set up a new company.

The city was praised in the PeoplePerHour survey for its low rents, affordable office space and its “business ecosystem”.

Southampton, Brighton, Bristol and finally London rounded out the top five in the survey of the best places to start a new business, indicating that the capital doesn’t have the same pull that it once did for startups.
